Description: It's the end of summer, and an old one-room schoolhouse, in traditional red paint, waits ready for the students' return. Two large maple trees, in fall foliage, flank the building. The bell is ringing...hurry! you'll be late for class! Background Information: There is a one-room schoolhouse near my home, and until recently, it was shaded by two ancient maple trees. Many of the older residents of the neighborhood recall attending classes in that building, and my husband's aunt taught there. Thankfully, the building has been preserved, and is now used by the local Boy Scout troop, the local churches, and as a polling place! Quite a long and productive life for such a small unassuming building....
Stitching Comments: This is a very small design, but is fairly complex: lots of quarter stitches and backstitching. There aren't too many blended floss colors, and the chart is very easy to read. Specialty Stitches: None Important Tips: Charting Technique
