Description:
A collection of unique knotwork crosses with complementary borders. The
designs are charted for overdyed and regular silks, but could easily be
stitched using cotton fibers. Tips are included in the leaflet for choosing
different colorways.
Background Information:
I've had many, many requests over the last couple of years for some Celtic
style designs, including knotwork. I personally find Celtic art fascinating,
so had no qualms about trying my hand at it. I've also been drooling for
years over the various overdyed fibers (especially silks) on the market,
and couldn't resist using them any longer! This
collection is (hopefully) the happy melding of two new passions...
Stitching Comments:
These cross and border designs are very straightforward: simply choose
some fiber colors that go well with each other, and begin stitching as
if you are actually tying the knots as you stitch... the overdyed fibers
blend deliciously and give the effect of shading without all of those
tedious color changes. As mentioned previously, tips are included in the
leaflet to help you choose different colorways. Also included in the leaflet
are three other border patterns to mix and match with the crosses....or
whatever!
