Description: This design features a quartet of flowers: lily, poppy, iris, and anemone, cross stitched with 2 strands of Appleton crewel weight wool on canvas. A twisted rope border in shades of gold finishes the design. 41 colors. Background Information: For my second wool-cross design, I decided to stay "traditional": "Flowers" seemed a logical follow-up to "Fruits": the two together make a stunning pair. As with the "Fruits", don't be deceived by the relatively small amount of 41 colors...I used numerous blends to get the desired results!
Stitching Comments: Stitching with wool on canvas is very easy. An inexperienced stitcher can easily get wonderful results stitching these designs. (This model was my Mother's second attempt at cross stitching: "Fruits" was her first.) The only effort required is a bit of organization because of the blended colors. Because cross stitch doesn't distort the canvas, the work can be stitched in-hand if you desire ...no blocking of the finished piece is required! Pattern Errors/Corrections: yes
