Description: A large fantasy design inspired by the publishing work of Arts and Crafts master William Morris. The design features a story written especially for this piece by Jennifer Aikman-Smith of Dragon Dreams. Designed to mimic the page of a story-book, the piece features a dragon scene, over-one lettering and motifs, and a stylized fire-breathing dragon, all enclosed within a leafy scroll-style border accented with beads. Background Information: I actually began designing this piece several years ago...and I got stuck on the story! I kindof knew what I wanted to say, but the words just would not come to me. So, the design languished in a drawer, and I remained uninspired to finish it....until I showed the partially finished design to Jennifer! To my great delight, she agreed to try to write a story-poem for The Fortunate Traveler. Within a day, she had written the perfect words to compliment the scene, and the overall feel of the piece. And, I was, at long last, inspired to finish the design! A chart is included for the alternate title spelling of "Traveller".
Stitching Comments: This design is truly a challenge to stitch. It's BIG. It's full of blended floss colors, fractional stitches, and too many diamond eyelets! It's also got enough over-one stitching in it to challenge the most avid over-one fan. But, it's one of those designs that is truly worth the time and effort. I hope you will enjoy it!
